All GUIX Studio widgets are created during GUIX initialization so they shouldn't be deleted. If the widget is not attached to root window or one of its children, its invisible. Detached windows can still receive timer events and other events that are pointed directly at them (and not at the current focus owner). You should be contacted directly regarding the other problem.
