Nick is there a forum software you like? What about Discourse? http://www.discourse.org/ It's made by Jeff Atwood and the team that created StackOverflow. It's a discussion forum, compared to StackOverflow which is focused on QA. Discourse seems to be the most popular now. It has 20,000 stars on GitHub. github.com/.../discourse It has more modern features compared to things like phpBB, vBulletin, and more features and better performance compared to nodeBB. I'm curious to see some examples of forums you like. If you know the backend software that's used, please let me know. I've been involved with community software for many years and it's a bit of hobby for me. I run two forums using Discourse, but I looked every software I could find before making that decision.
