USB Boot is very important to me as well. I am not allowed to ship a product without some sort of straightforward and reliable method for customers to install updates in the field. The ROM based USB boot is a start but there needs to be some sort of complete programming utility on the "other end" to make it a complete solution. I am migrating from the PIC32 architecture. There is a third party company (Trace Systems) which offers both ethernet and USB bootloader solutions which are very well thought out. They use encrypted code files which are overkill for us but the ability to send a customer a zip file with the binary and an EXE to program the product is very nice. That solution even allows us to include our own logo, etc to "brand" the software. A simple utility where any programing parameters are in a config file that we supply so the customer just runs the update would be great. If it allowed us to brand it with a JPG of our logo that would be icing on the cake. For an example of what we are using now see: http://www.tracesystemsinc.com/trace-systems-bootloaders.html
